The cost of love... A survey conducted by Match.com reveals in 2016, the average unmarried American spent $1,596 on dating...And research suggests, the price of a night out is going up.
The average cost of a dinner for two, a bottle of wine and two movie tickets... clocks in at a little over $102.

New York tops the list for the highest date expense, adding up to almost $298. New Jersey ranks second costing folks an average of nearly $260 for a night on the town, followed by Hawaii and Connecticut. South Dakota clocks in with the least expensive date costs, with an average a little over $38.
