ATHENS, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Greek Super League club OFI Crete's goalkeeper Polychronis Vezyridis will be suspended for two years after positive tests for cocaine, the league's disciplinary committee announced on Tuesday.
Vezyridis, 37, failed two doping tests and during his hearing he insisted that the cocaine was from a pipe he was offered by some of his club's supporters.
Vezyridis said he was approached by some OFI fans and they offered him a pipe to smoke, which he couldn't refuse, and resulted in the failed test before the AEK Athens-OFI match on February 26.
