HOUSTON, July 7 (Xinhua) -- A man was gunned down at his own home in the U.S. city of Houston Sunday, local media reported.

The shooting happened at a townhouse in southwest Houston early Sunday, and police who arrived later at the scene found the body of a young man, the Houston Chronicle website reported.

Neighbors of the home said they heard gunshots shortly after midnight and then reported to the police. They did not witness anyone who entered the victim's house earlier.

Police identified the man as a 20-year-old single, but did not release his name. An investigation has been launched and the police is trying to hunt down the suspect.
