MEXICO CITY, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- A freight train derailed in southeastern part of Mexico early Sunday morning, killing at least four people dead and causing several other injuries, local authorities reported.
The train, known as "The Beast," went off the tracks around 3: 00 a.m. (0900 GMT) in the town of Huimanguillo, southeastern Mexico's Tabasco state, before it approached the state of Veracruz, said a local official of Tabasco, Cesar Burelo.
Many Central American migrants had been traveling via the train service to cross through Mexico and then emigrate illegally to the United States.
