LOS ANGELES, June 8 (Xinhua) -- An apparent shooting ambush in a Las Vegas pizzeria and a nearby Walmart left five people dead on Sunday, including two police officers and two suspects.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), via its Twitter account, confirmed that two metro officers on break were gunned down in the shooting at around 11:30 a.m. local time (1930 GMT) when the two suspects walked into the pizzeria and opened fire.
The suspects, one male and one female, took the officers' weapons and ammunition before storming out of the pizzeria and then walked to the nearby Walmart and shot and killed a bystander.
Police and a SWAT team were dispatched to the scene and the suspects died when officers arrived.
At a news conference at about 1 p.m. local time (2100 GMT), Assistant Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the male shooter, described as a tall white man, yelled "everyone get out" before shooting.
The man and woman then went to the back of the store and "there was some kind of suicide pact," McMahill said.
The suspects was quoted by witnesses as saying something like " this is a revolution" before they opened fire to the officers.
The motive is not immediately clear. The LVMPD said it was investigating the shooting.
