ALGIERS, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Dozens of Algerians on Saturday staged a sit-in in down town Algiers, the capital of Algeria, to show solidarity to the people of Gaza Strip who are subject to violent air raids by the Israeli forces.
The sit-in was organized by human right activists, as the demonstrators waved banners that denounce the killing of civilians in Gaza Strip.
Earlier on Saturday, members and fans of the Islamic Movement for Society of Peace (MSP) marked a sit-in in front of the party headquarters in upper Algiers. They lifted banners that call the international community to punish Israel for targeting civilians and children.
The Algeria government has denounced what it called as "the silence" of the international community over the continuous raids of Israel against Gaza Strip, which claimed so far more than 100 lives.
This Israeli aerial bombardment is the most violent since November 2012, media reports said, adding that it was partly fueled by the kidnapping and killing of three Israeli teenagers in the occupied West Bank last month.
