BERLIN, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- German Agriculture Minister Christian Schmidt said on Tuesday in a meeting with his counterparts of Poland and France that he expressly refused a food destruction caused by sales difficulties.

Schmidt met on Tuesday with French Agriculture Minister Stephane Le Foll and the Poland's Marek Sawiki to discuss about the current impact and consequences of the Russian import ban on agricultural products.

For Germany, Schmidt said: "The Russian embargo on imports of agricultural products will have a tangible impact for the German producers, but remains manageable."

"It must be our goal to minimize harm for the affected people and to at the same time to develop new markets and new sales regions, so that market risks can be better cushioned in the future," said Schmidt.

In addition to the current topic, the three ministers also discussed the further work on political future issues related to the Europe 2020 strategy and the responsibility of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for the development of Europe.

Schmidt praised the strategy "Europe 2020" as an "ambitious growth strategy".
