ULAN BATOR, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived here Wednesday on a one-day working visit and held talks with his Mongolian counterpart Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj to promote bilateral cooperation in energy and transportation.
Russia's high-level delegation led by Putin includes Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, Energy Minister Alexander Novak, Far East Development Minister Alexander Galushka, and President of state-run Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin.

Putin and Elbegdorj witnessed a signing ceremony of over 20 documents, including a visa waiver agreement, at the national parliament building in Ulan Bator.
The two leaders also laid a wreath at the statue of Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov to mark the 75th anniversary of a Soviet-Mongolian victory against Japanese troops at the battle of Khalkin Gol at the start of World War II.
