VILNIUS, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Troops from Belgium, Germany and Hungary will come to Lithuania for training, according to Lithuania's Chief of Defense here on Saturday.
Major General Jonas Vytautas Zukas, Chief of Defense of the Baltic country said the above-mentioned countries will shortly send their capabilities to Lithuania.
"New rotation of additional NATO forces will take place in Lithuania, in other words, such rotation will be started," he was quoted by BNS news agency.
No agreements on specific arrival time have been reached yet, he said.
"We just agreed that these countries are ready to take part in training events together with the Lithuanian army in the territory of Lithuania," he added.
NATO and its member countries have strengthened military presence in the Baltic region amid conflicts in Ukraine. A Readiness Action Plan will also be built, mainly for Eastern Europe.
The Baltic countries and Poland have already received company-size contingents from the US.
Joining NATO in 2004, Lithuania, together with its Baltic neighbors Latvia and Estonia, is relying on their NATO partners for patrolling its airspace.
