RAMALLAH, Jan 31 (Xinhua) -- Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian youth in clashes with dozens of Palestinians Saturday night in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, medics and eyewitnesses said.
According to the witnesses, the man was shot and killed during clashes between dozens of Palestinians youths and an Israeli army unit near the village of Madama.
They said that the Israeli soldiers opened fire at the Palestinians after they threw bottles filled with gas at Israeli settlers' cars south of the city.
Medical officials said al-Najjar, the 19 year-old young man, died immediately after a gunshot in his neck, adding that another young man was injured.
There was no immediate Israeli army comment to the incident, however, al-Najjar is the second Palestinian that was killed in the West Bank since the beginning of January.
