LOS ANGELES, May 18 (Xinhua) -- One Marine was killed and 21 others injured in a military aircraft crash on Sunday in Hawaii, according to local media reports on Monday.

The MV-22 Osprey at Bellows Air Force Station experienced a "hard landing," the U.S. military said. The crash happened during a training exercise around noon local time.

Twenty-two were on aboard, including 21 Marines and one Navy corpsman. The injuries ranged from critical to minor.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.

The Osprey, a tilt-rotor aircraft built by Boeing Co. and Bell, takes off and lands like a helicopter and flies like a plane.
