KATHMANDU, June 2 (Xinhua) -- A private helicopter crashed in Balephi of quake-hit Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal on Tuesday, killing at least four people.
Nepal Police spokesperson Kamal Singh Bom and Mountain Helicopters Nepal, the operator of the helicopter, confirmed the crash of the helicopter in the area of Yamuna Dada, Balephi, some 75 kilometers away from the country's capital.
"Captain Subek Shrestha was in the helicopter 9N AJP," Basanta Kumar Bhandari, an official with the Mountain Helicopters, confirmed to Xinhua over phone.
Shrestha was recently promoted to the rank of captain.
A team of Nepal Police has reached the site of the crash and recovered the bodies of three men and one woman.
The helicopter was flying from Kathmandu to Sindhupalchowk for relief program, according to reports. However, details of the accident are yet to be known.
