LJUBLJANA, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- The number of refugees who have entered Slovenia surpassed 200,000 on Friday since Oct. 17 when Hungary sealed off its border.

Meanwhile, slightly over 5,000 refugees staying at reception and accommodation centers around the country had left the country for Austria.

By 6:00 p.m. local time on Friday (1700 GMT), the number of refugees reached 200,763 as Friday's new arrivals numbered some 6,460, according to Slovenian Press Agency (STA) on Friday evening.

With the huge number of arrivals which surged again Thursday, when some 9,680 crossed into Slovenia, the government official described it "one of the most difficult days so far" for everyone involved in managing the refugee crisis.

Commenting on the refugee situation in Slovenia so far, Interior Ministry State Secretary Bostjan Sefic stated that the refugee crisis cost the state a lot.

"In October alone, the cost reached some six million euros," he said.

A thousand police officers on average are involved every day, helped by several hundred foreign officers and hundreds of soldiers, the STA quoted the minister as saying.
