7. My eye is twitching.
我的眼皮在跳.
中国人有一句谚语说“左眼跳财, 右眼跳灾”, 这句话要解释给老美听可能要花上老半天工夫. 不过如果你已经知道眼皮跳用的是 twitch 这个动词, 那可能会简单些. 所以我们可以这样解释给外国人听, "Twitching on the left eye forecasts fortune but twitching on the right eye forcasts disaster."
附注一点: 大家学到了“鼻屎”和“耳屎”的讲法, 可能会期待“眼屎”的讲法. 不过我问过两三个老美, 他们都告诉我“眼屎”并没有一个固定的讲法. 但是我们可以用一个万用字 discharge. 凡是身上排放出来的分泌物或排泄物都可以用 discharge. 例如 "There is a thick, yellow discharge coming from my eye." (我眼睛里流出黄色黏稠的分泌物. 或是直接讲 eye discharge. 例如, "You have to wash your face to clean the eye discharge." (你必须去洗脸把眼屎给洗掉.)
